Mrs Frances Berzins

Assistant Headteacher

SENCO & ASDAN

My teaching experience so far has provided me with many opportunities to support children and young people in both their learning and their personal journey through school.  In previous schools, I taught mainly in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and since joining the Kents Hill Park team, I have been teaching in Key Stage 3.

My role at Kents Hill Park School is Assistant Headteacher and SENCO. I studied for my undergraduate degree in Nottingham and then continued my studies at Master level through the University of Northampton. I then continued to develop my understanding of SEND through my action-research thesis, where I have been fortunate to present my findings in universities in the UK and in Europe. I completed my NASENCO qualification, which has equipped me with the practical skills required in my role as SENCO.

I thoroughly enjoy supporting the students at Kents Hill Park. I enjoy my daily check-ins with pupils, organising support that helps to move learning forwards, as well as helping pupils to build the emotional resilience that is required for life-long learning.

Outside of school, you are likely to find me outdoors with my baby boy, enjoying good food, occasionally running and socialising with friends and family. I love going on long walks with my dog. Most of all, I enjoy travelling during my holidays and one of my favourite holidays is skiing.
