Nursery Facilities
Each class at Kents Hill Park School is named after a significant and inspirational individual who has shown our school characteristics – being confident, independent and forward-thinking.
The Nursery class is named ‘Sunflowers Class’ after the artist Vincent Van Gogh.
The brand-new Nursery offers an engaging and well-resourced environment that stimulates learning through both its indoor and outdoor provision. Learning revolves around chosen themes that reflect the children’s interests. Promoting a love of reading sits at the heart of the curriculum and a range of books are shared each day to capture the children’s imaginations. The Nursery instils a love of learning through exciting and stimulating experiences that run through the indoor and outdoor provision. Every child will be supported to flourish as they take their first steps into their early learning journey.
Children are allocated a key worker to support their learning journey and, through structured play, independent exploration and adult-led activities, they learn and develop through experiences that cover the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the World
- Expressive Arts and Design

Communication
The nursery views parents and carers as partners and acknowledges the importance of their involvement in their child’s learning and development. Through the school’s online system, Tapestry, each child has their own individual learning journal account, which only their parents/carers are able to access. The nursery records observations of the children, which parent/carers are able to view. Experiences from home can be shared too.
