Mrs Lauren Hamer

Assistant Headteacher

SENCo, Year 3 Class Teacher

I grew up just outside Cardiff in South Wales and I studied Music at university before working as a professional musician for a number years – I play the saxophone, clarinet and flute. I had some incredible opportunities as a musician; I’ve performed at the BBC Proms and Glastonbury Festival. However, I’d always wanted to be a teacher, so I began my teacher training in Cardiff and completed my NQT year in primary school in Cwmbran, a small town near Newport.

I moved to Milton Keynes in 2013 and began working at Monkston Primary School where I became the school’s Inclusion Leader in 2015. I’ve taught across the different key stages, but you can usually find me in upper key stage 2! I’m really passionate about all children having access to a high quality education, regardless of their ability or background, so I’m thrilled to be part of an equally passionate team here at Kents Hill Park School. When not at school, my head is usually buried in a book and I enjoy sharing my love of books with the children I teach.

In my spare time, I like to keep active; I play netball twice a week and run as much as I can. My husband and I love the outdoors and can often be found with our binoculars doing a spot of birdwatching.
