Mr Shaun Humphries

Head of Music

I am currently in my fifteenth year of teaching Music. Kents Hill Park School is the sixth school that I have worked at since starting my teaching career. During my teaching career I have taught Music and Music Technology from Reception up to Year 13.

Before becoming a Music teacher, I completed my Masters Degree in Music Performance at Colchester Institute of Music and Performing Arts. I have spent a number of years working as a peripatetic music teacher specialising in brass, keyboard and acoustic guitar.

I decided to become a teacher as I am extremely passionate about music, and believe that everyone has the ability to be musical and enjoy the process of creating, performing and listening to a wide variety of different styles and genres.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of Kents Hill Park School. I am excited to be involved in building a creative and vibrant music department for our students. My focus will be to provide a wide range of musical experiences for all. I am particular excited about creating opportunities for students to compose and perform.

When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and our golden retriever. I am also principal tuba with Aylesbury Symphony Orchestra and music director for Hook Norton Brass Band and Brackley Male Voice Choir.
