Miss Charlotte Baker

Teacher of English

Before starting my teaching career, I worked as a support worker for children with additional needs. I continued working whilst completing a degree in Psychology at the University of Bedfordshire. My teaching career started when I travelled to Sri Lanka and taught English as a second language to a variety of age groups. Soon after returning, I completed my teacher training, specialising in English. You would be amazed at the cross overs between English and Psychology!

I have been teaching English and Social Sciences since and have loved every second. I truly believe that all children, no matter their background, deserve an outstanding education and I strive to meet this in each and every one of my lessons. Teaching English is so much more than reading novels, it is all about communication, opinion and imagination.

Outside of school, I am keeping up with my Springer Spaniel Hugo on long walks. I am also a keen sportswoman, playing netball every week with a local team and going to watch as many Superleague games as I can. Normally, I will have at least 2 books on the go at once, covering a wide range of topics, but mostly crime novels as I love a detective series.
