Welcome to Nursery at Kents Hill Park School!

We are Sunflowers Class. Each class at Kents Hill Park School is named after a significant and inspirational individual who has shown our school characteristics – being confident, independent and forward-thinking. Our Nursery class is named ‘Sunflowers Class’ after the artist Vincent Van Gogh.

“All the flowers of all the tommorows are in the seeds of today.”

– Chinese Proverb

We believe that each child’s experiences in their early learning setting are crucial for future success both in and out of school. At Kents Hill Park Nursery we view every child as a unique individual who will be nurtured to grow to be the best they can be.

Our Provision

Communication

Our brand new Nursery offers an engaging and well-resourced environment that stimulates learning through both its indoor and outdoor provision. Learning revolves around chosen themes that reflect the children’s interests. Promoting a love of reading sits at the heart of our curriculum and we love sharing a range of books each day to capture the children’s imaginations.

Through structured play and adult-led activities, the children learn and develop through experiences that cover the seven areas of learning:

• Communication and Language

• Physical Development

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development

• Literacy

• Mathematics

• Understanding of the World

• Expressive Arts and Design

We view parents and carers as partners and acknowledge the importance of your involvement in your child’s learning and development. Through our online system, Tapestry, each child has their own individual learning journal account which only their parents/carers are able to access. We record observations of your child which you are able to view and you are also able to share experiences from home too.
