Mr Simon Harris

Teacher of Maths

I have worked in education for a little over 10 years now, including a break where I worked for the London Metropolitan Police Service. I studied my undergraduate degree at Buckinghamshire New University and my PGCE at London Metropolitan University. I have worked in both the Primary and Secondary sector as a Maths and PE teacher, which has included a number of additional roles and responsibilities along the way. Throughout my journey of having worked in both education and the public sector, I have developed a real passion for not only teaching students in the classroom (and online) but also helping them out with other aspects of their lives and development. Whether, that is through the lessons themselves and the topics we cover, or developing and enhancing soft skills such as communication, resilience, self-motivation, decision making and many more.

I am joining Kent’s Hill Park at an extremely exciting time, as it continues to grow and I cannot wait to use the skills and knowledge I have gained so far with the students here at the School. I hope that I can use my skills and knowledge to inspire the students to develop or enhance further their passion for learning and bettering themselves. Furthermore, the opportunity to develop myself and learn from other like-minded people to ensure that the children here have the best possible opportunity to succeed in life, is also something that drew me to Kent’s Hill Park.

Outside of school I take part in variety of sports ‘Covid-19 permitting’ including; Rugby, Football, Cycling & Running. I also love spending time with my family and friends, visiting new places and trying/experiencing new things. One of which, is that I recently taught myself how to complete a Rubix cube in under 3 minutes.
