Admission Appeals Hearings: Update

In light of the current situation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, we are reviewing the arrangements for the admission appeal hearings scheduled for the summer term.

We can confirm that admission appeal hearings will still take place. Please continue to work towards the dates already published. If social distancing measures remain in place, alternative arrangements will be put in place for the hearings to proceed. The Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel will be in contact with parent/carers in due course to provide further information and guidance.

Starting School for the First Time (Foundation) September 2020 / Pupils moving up from Infant School to Year 3 September 2020

Applications need to be completed via the Citizen Portal on Milton Keynes Council’s website by midnight on 15th January 2020. National offer day for those applications received on time will be Thursday, 16th April 2020. Please refer to Milton Keynes Council website for further details

Timeline for Admission Appeals for Foundation / Year 3 – September 2020

 Following national offer day of 16th April 2020, if you named Kents Hill Park School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you have a right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.  The appeals timetable* for Kents Hill Park School for students starting school in Foundation (year R) or Year 3 in September 2020 will be as follows:

Monday, 18th May 2020 at 3pm: Deadline to request an appeal form*

Wednesday, 20th May at 3pm: Deadline to lodge an appeal**

Week Commencing 15th June 2020: Appeal hearings will be held during this week. Appellants will be advised as to precise day and time by the clerk.

Should you wish to appeal against the decision not to offer your child a place at Kents Hill Park School, please email the admissions team at  [email protected] providing the name of the child, their date of birth and an email address where the appeal paperwork can be sent. Requests for appeal forms must be made by 3pm on Monday, 18th May 2020. 

Please note the School will be closed for the Easter holidays from the end of school on Friday 3rd April until it reopens on Monday 20th April. No appeals are processed during the school holidays.

*Please note it may not be possible to include within this timetable any appeals that are lodged after the deadline.

**This is the deadline by which the completed appeal form must be received by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel.
